1. Can I put
your floors down over cement?
Yes, you can put the
floors down over cement, however it will not provide the cushioning
dancers need to prevent injury. For the best protection you should
provide a sprung wood or basket weave floor. Consider our portable
SubFloor.
2. Which of
your floors can I use to tap on?
The only floors we
recommend you tap on are Performance floor and
Roscoleum. The sound will
not be as crisp as if you were tapping on wood. The surface is also good
for Jazz, Ballet, and Modern.
3. My brand
new floor has ripples in it, what should I do?
Our
floors are made
of 100% Poly-vinyl Chloride (PVC). PVC tends to have "memory".
To solve this problem unroll your floor and let it rest overnight. This
should take care of the problem. Lay the floor tape at one end and pull
the other end until it is smooth and flat. Be careful not to over
stretch your floor.
4. How should
I store my floor?
Since
our floors
are made of PVC, you should make sure to wrap your floor around a tube
that is at least three inches in diameter. The tube should be durable
enough to hold up to the weight of your floor. You don’t want your
floor to collapse the tube and sit in a folded state. The memory of the
PVC will make the creases semi-permanent.
5. How heavy
is Dance floor?
Dance floor weighs
3.2 lbs. per square yd. Performance floor weighs 7 lbs. per square yd.
Show floor and Studio floor are both 6 lbs. per square yard. Rosco Tiles
weighs 12 lbs. each.
